Hilarious Construction Worker Fails of Which the Internet Can’t Get Enough

Everyone makes mistakes, but there are some that are too funny to not be shared by everyone in cyberspace. Sometimes construction workers build something that doesn’t seem to go the way they had originally planned. Here are some construction worker fails that may leave you on the floor laughing.

Someone at this site must have thought that it would be easier to pour all of it at once, but he forgot to consider one minor detail – that his workers might not be able to get out afterwards. It’s hard to say what happened after the cement dried, but they must have left a lasting mark on what was going to be a future walkway.

While they must have thought that pulling a concrete piece out of the ground would be easy, they didn’t think that there would be electrical wiring buried underneath. Either someone wasn’t happy that their cable service got knocked out, or they killed an electrical system for an entire neighborhood. Either way, it wasn’t going to end well.

Have you ever wondered why it takes so long for construction workers to finish a job? Well, this photo might shed some light on an age-old mystery. These two like to play a game that they like to call “kick the hard-hat,” and they would rather do that than finish a street that taxpayers desperately need completed. At least there’s the comfort in knowing that your hard-earned dollars are being put to good use.

When is a road not a road? When it has a telephone pole stuck in the middle of it. Mistakes are understandable, but this one should have been obvious. This is another construction fail that makes absolutely no sense. It would have been better to run lines around the roads – not through them.

It must be some new French word, but is “frie” some type of cheese? Or did he put the “r” and “i” in the wrong order? He had only one job, and you’d think that he would be able to get it right. Perhaps that one task was too complicated for him.

You’ll have to look closely, but this man has a lit cigarette in his mouth. He might not have noticed the sign that said “flammable gas,” but this is just plain stupid. Then again, he might have a death wish. Barbecue at my place – 6PM. Don’t be late.

Someone must have failed to plan ahead, but he might not have noticed the metal posts on the right side of this bicycle path. One can only imagine the results that this blunder might have caused, and it must have led to a number of accidents. The idea of a group of bikers playing “chicken” doesn’t sound too appealing.

It’s hard to say what’s dumber – the telephone pole in the middle of the road, or a flight of stairs that leads straight into the ceiling. This is one of those situations where someone just wasn’t thinking, because what looks good on paper might not work in a practical application. And these two cases are classic examples.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that this one is a mistake, because it says “right turn only” when the street turns left. Sure – go ahead and run your car into the curb. It’ll be fine. No, I don’t think so. I want to keep my bumper and hood intact.

Maybe I’m missing something, but isn’t this the new “squat potty” that I’ve been hearing about? Or could this be an epic mistake that will leave anyone cracking up laughing? Getting it out is the easy part. It’s wiping yourself afterwards that’s the challenge.

Someone obviously thought that running a sidewalk through a metal gate would be a good idea, but it’s not the only think that makes this design such a serious mistake. Instead of running it through the opening situated to the left, they decided to make it harder for passers-by to get in and out of the complex.

The sad part about this photo is that it’s real, because someone is putting the state of his right leg at serious risk. Either he wants to cripple himself, or he doesn’t think that a set of sharp blades moving in a rapid centrifuge is a problem. Either way, someone needs to tell him that I don’t want his blood on my tree clipper.

It’s a nice railing for this type of staircase, but there’s only one problem. There’s no way anyone can use it unless they have an Olympic gold metal in gymnastics, but they might not have though of it when they built it. It must be someone’s idea of a cruel joke.

Either this is a DIY gone wrong or a carpenter that had too much to drink, but it doesn’t make sense to have the door knob right next to the hinges. One can only imagine the confusion that something like this would cause, especially when someone tries to open the door.

Either someone from the outside is going to stand there scratching his head, or someone from the inside is going open it and realize that his face is pressed into the concrete below. Either way, it would make sense to build a set of stairs so someone can get in and out without becoming a permanent part of the sidewalk.

Someone didn’t think that putting a security camera behind a sign would be a bad idea, but the look of confusion from the security guards when they can’t figure out why that one monitor won’t display an image must be priceless. A little more foresight would have gone a long way for whoever installed them.

It’s hard to decide which one is dumber – the painted lettering with the word “SOTP,” or the door with the “do not enter sign” just above the words “entry only.” Both of them might be a tie, but the one on the right would leave quite a few people with some looks of confusion.

While putting two urinals on both ends of a corner might seem like a way to conserve space, it would have some pretty messy results. The idea of being in such close contact with someone else who’s “taking care of business” doesn’t seem too appealing – that is, unless you really bend that way.
